Thank you, Beth Lindsay Templeton, for writing [A Coat Named Mr. Spot], a simplified version of “Our Eyes Were Opened” (also a fabulous book). I read every word and then shared it with my church circle group. I gave them an overview and then read from your last page about “getting out of our box”, etc. This is definitely an adult book as well as a children’s book and should give everyone food for thought and may prevent “jumping to conclusions” or making snap judgments about people in unfortunate socioeconomic circumstances. It will definitely open up discussion with your children as well as with others. May we all be as compassionate and caring as “Mimi” and “Papa” in this book. All the suggestions in the “Parents Guide” are an “every person’s guide.” Thank you, Beth, for “opening our eyes” and our hearts.
